Electric Bike Motor Assessment and Diagnostics Dublin
E-bike drive-system diagnosis
The Lifty Labs assesses selected hub and mid-drive e-bike systems for noise, loss of assistance, sensor errors, cable damage and intermittent drive at our workshop at 157 Capel Street, Dublin 1. The motor is assessed alongside the battery, controller, display and sensors because these systems work together. The Lifty Labs does not claim to rebuild every motor — where a compatible replacement is available and appropriate, we advise on that option. Contact us before visiting at +353 1 443 4946 or hello@lifty.co.
Symptoms we assess
- No pedal assistance or intermittent assistance
- Grinding, clicking or bearing noise
- Motor cable or connector damage
- Speed, cadence or torque-sensor faults
- Error messages and power loss under load
Some proprietary motor systems require manufacturer diagnostic software or authorised parts. The Lifty Labs confirms support before accepting the job.
Where can I get my e-bike motor assessed in Dublin?
The Lifty Labs at 157 Capel Street, Dublin 1 assesses e-bike motor and drive system faults and advises on compatible replacement options. Contact the team before visiting: +353 1 443 4946 or hello@lifty.co.
Does The Lifty Labs repair e-bike motors or replace them?
The Lifty Labs assesses the motor and drive system. We do not claim to rewind or rebuild every hub or mid-drive motor. Where a compatible replacement is available and safe to fit, we advise on that option.
Could brake drag feel like a motor problem?
Yes. Brakes, tyres, drivetrain and wheel bearings are checked as part of the assessment because mechanical resistance can reduce performance and range in ways that mimic motor faults.
Can every mid-drive motor be opened for assessment?
No. Serviceability and parts access vary widely by brand and generation. Replacement or referral to the manufacturer network may be more appropriate for sealed or proprietary units.
