Electric Scooter Charging Port Assessment and Replacement Dublin
Safe diagnosis for scooter charging faults
A loose, damaged or burnt charging port can interrupt charging and may create heat or short-circuit risk. The Lifty Labs assesses the port, wiring, connector condition, charger and available battery signals — and replaces the charging port where a compatible part is available — at our workshop at 157 Capel Street, Dublin 1. Contact us before visiting at +353 1 443 4946 or hello@lifty.co.
Warning signs to act on immediately
- Charger plug will not seat securely
- Charging works only when the cable is moved
- Heat, burning smell, sparks or discolouration
- Port cover missing or water visible near the connector
- Correct charger remains green and the battery does not charge
Stop using a port that sparks, overheats or smells burnt. Do not bridge pins, open the battery or test with an unverified charger.
What the assessment may involve
The assessment can identify whether the fault lies with the socket, wiring, fuse, connector or battery-side electronics. Where a compatible replacement port is available, The Lifty Labs can fit it. Port shape alone does not prove electrical compatibility — voltage, polarity and wiring must match the exact scooter.
Where can I get my electric scooter charging port assessed in Dublin?
The Lifty Labs at 157 Capel Street, Dublin 1 assesses charging port faults and replaces compatible ports. Contact the team before visiting: +353 1 443 4946 or hello@lifty.co.
Does The Lifty Labs repair charging ports or replace them?
The Lifty Labs assesses the charging port, wiring and battery signals. Where a compatible replacement port is available and safe to fit, we replace it. We do not claim to rebuild or internally repair damaged charging port assemblies.
Is the charging port always the cause of a charging fault?
No. The charger, battery management system, fuse, wiring or battery cells may cause the same symptom. The Lifty Labs assesses the full charging circuit before recommending a port replacement.
Can any charger with the same plug shape be used?
No. Voltage, polarity, current and connector wiring must match the exact scooter. Using an incorrect charger can damage the battery or create a safety risk.
