Bike to Work E-Bikes Over €1,000

Compare electric bikes over €1,000 for Ireland’s Bike to Work Scheme. Revenue currently sets a €1,500 exemption limit for qualifying pedelecs and e-bikes, including eligible safety equipment. A purpose-built cargo or e-cargo bike can use the separate €3,000 limit; ordinary e-bikes do not become cargo bikes because they have a rack.

How the Cycle to Work purchase works

  1. Confirm that your employer participates and ask whether it pays the shop directly or uses a voucher provider.
  2. Choose a qualifying 250W pedal-assist e-bike and eligible commuting equipment.
  3. Request an employer-ready quotation from Lifty.
  4. Your employer or provider approves and pays the supplier; employee reimbursement does not qualify.
  5. Arrange Capel Street collection or nationwide delivery after payment is confirmed.

Tax savings depend on the employee’s Income Tax, USC and PRSI position. “Save up to 52%” is a conditional estimate, not a 52% shop discount. The scheme can generally be used once in any four-year tax period.
