Electric Scooter & E-Bike Repairs in Dublin: What We Actually Fix

A strange noise is not a diagnosis. “It stopped” is not one either. Lifty starts with inspection and fault-finding, then explains what is wrong before unnecessary parts get anywhere near your machine.

What comes through the workshop doors?

Everything from a simple puncture to a scooter that has decided to communicate only through beeps and error codes. Our goal is to identify the fault, explain the options and repair what actually needs repairing.

Common work:
  • Brake adjustment, pads, rotors, cables and compatible hydraulic systems.
  • Punctures, inner tubes, tubeless tyres, solid-tyre conversions and wheel issues.
  • Displays, throttles, brake sensors, wiring and charging faults.
  • Controller and motor diagnostics where compatible.
  • Battery-system assessment and charging checks.
  • Folding mechanisms, bearings, stem play and structural inspection.
  • Water-ingress checks and model-specific waterproofing work.

Diagnosis first. Parts second.

Replacing random components is an expensive way to troubleshoot. A scooter that will not accelerate could have a throttle fault, brake cut-off sensor problem, damaged cable, controller issue or battery protection event. A battery that will not charge might actually have a charger, port or connector problem.

That is why the workshop starts with evidence: model, symptoms, error codes, visual condition, recent impacts, water exposure and previous repairs.

What to bring

  • The scooter or e-bike, charger and keys.
  • A clear explanation of when the fault started.
  • Photos or video if the problem is intermittent.
  • Any error code exactly as displayed.
  • Details of water exposure, crashes or recent modifications.

When should you stop riding immediately?

Do not keep testing a machine with weak brakes, steering movement, repeated power cut-outs, damaged battery casing, swelling, smoke, unusual heat, sparks or a strong electrical smell. “One more ride” is not a diagnostic method.

Repairs, not unnecessary upgrades

If a component is serviceable, the goal is not to sell a shinier one. Sometimes the correct repair is adjustment, cleaning, alignment or a small cable. When an upgrade genuinely improves the machine—such as compatible hydraulic brakes, a better tyre solution or extra weather protection—we explain the benefit and trade-offs first.

Why local support matters

Electric mobility products combine bicycle mechanics with batteries, controllers, sensors and firmware. Having a Dublin workshop means you have somewhere to return when tyres wear, brakes need attention or electronics start behaving dramatically.
